Guru Sheetal Dhanani

Sheetal Dhanani started this dance academy at a very basic level where there were absolutely no resources, but today with her hard work and vision, Tarana Dance Academy is one of the leading dance schools in Chicago land area. Sheetal started training at the tender age of five and got opportunity to learn from all her gurus more than 17 plus years. She also got trained in composing professional music for Kathak. Today Tarana Dance Academy is thankful to all her gurus for their guidance and training.

​TEJAS DHANANI

We are proud to introduce Tejas Dhanani, Tarana’s newest music instructor. Tejas started training for piano and violin at the youthful age of five. His middle and high school career circulated around music as well. During his time at Granger Middle School, Tejas was a part of Select Strings and Groovin’ Grizzlies, specializing in classical and pop music. He was also a recipient of a prestigious scholarship to go to Blue Lake Music Camp, where he was introduced
to different instruments at a very early age. In Metea Valley High School, Tejas was a part of Solo Ensemble, and other high-end music classes of the school, and was an active member of Metea’s orchestra group as well. Throughout high school, Tejas composed many musical pieces that were played in many places and were appreciated by many people as well. He has also trained from various experts in piano and violin teachers, among them the major ones being Mrs. Susan Starrett, Dr. Lue, Mrs. Sackschewsky. Currently, Tejas is majoring in music and math at Illinois State University and hopes to pursue music in the future. He is working to receive his degree to work as a high school music and math teacher.
